boutique hotels ontario

It was already tough to save up for a vacation, and now plane travel is up in the air, so to speak. Fortunately, if you live in Toronto there are lots of great getaway options in your own backyard.

In fact, at least three new boutique hotels have opened up recently, and they’re great places for mini trips that are a little more than staycations, but won’t have you booking any flights or breaking your budget.

Here are three new boutique hotels for a getaway just outside Toronto.

Somewhere Inn

This peaceful space already had a location in Calabogie, but they’ve opened up a Collingwood spot even more recently.

Both locations are equipped with wine bars serving gourmet snacks and bites, as well as thermal cycles with saunas and cold plunges to recharge. The best part is, even if you can’t afford or don’t have time to stay at the inn, these amenities are also accessible to the public for a charge if you just want a little day trip.

If you’re looking for the opposite of a faceless corporate hotel chain where you can disconnect and spend lots of time outdoors, this is the place for you.

Postmark Hotel

Newmarket recently welcomed this hotel into a space that was once an old historic post office.

The crown jewel of this boutique hotel is a rooftop restaurant called Overlea that serves elegant lunch, dinner and brunch made using locally sourced ingredients, and they also have a cute lobby restaurant and in-room dining.

Clean, crisp design dominates all three floors and 55 rooms of the hotel, some of which have high ceilings and gigantic windows.

Liberty Inn

Journey to Caledon to find this hotel and spa that’s so bespoke, they even have their own ceramics program that produced the unique tiles, plates and bowls for the inn. The structure of the historic building was originally a post office and general store.

The inn has its very own private spa on the premises, and rooms come equipped with luxe amenities like red light masks, weighted bathrobes and a skincare kit. One room even comes with its own infrared sauna.
