A coffee chain originating in Vancouver with over three decades of history behind it will soon be opening their very first Toronto locations.
Blenz Coffee has been exclusively serving communities in British Columbia and Alberta, but now they’re finally set to expand to the Greater Toronto Area.
The brand opened their first cafe on Robson Street in Vancouver in 1992, and they pride themselves on their quality ingredients, especially their signature espresso, single origin Colombian chocolate, organic fair trade whole leaf teas, and organic hand-picked South Korean matcha. They even claim to have invented the matcha latte.
In addition to their coffee, chocolate drinks, tea and matcha, they also serve shaken iced teas, protein shakes, limited edition seasonal drinks, and blended drinks called “Chillos” that come in fruit, coffee and matcha varieties.
They have a well-rounded food menu too, with croissants, loaves, scones, cookies, muffins, bars, sandwiches and wraps. Some of their most unique treats are their cake jars, beignets and a creation they call a “dacaron” that fuses a dacquoise and macaron.
The chain is also known for their comfy but stylish interiors that are perfect for lounging with a beverage, and they’ll be bringing that aesthetic to their new stores.
“We’re excited to extend our reach and share our love for coffee and community throughout Toronto,” said Matt Smith, vice president of Blenz Coffee, in a press release.
The first of the new Blenz Coffee shops should open late summer 2024, with more locations in development for the end of the year and into 2025.
