An ice cream maker that’s been beloved for years has announced you’ll no longer be able to get their products.

Wong’s Ice Cream once had a brick and mortar store that closed permanently, but it was still possible to get their treats through other retailers like Good Cheese, Basil Box, City Cottage Market and June Plum.

They were known for their Asian-inspired flavours such as black sesame salted egg, Thai iced tea, Hong Kong milk tea, Vietnamese coffee and Korean banana milk.

“This may be the last long weekend to grab a pint of Wong’s from your neighbourhood shop. When they’re sold out, that’s it. That’ll be the last of it. I’ve decided to focus on other things and have made the difficult choice to say goodbye to Wong’s Ice Cream for good,” Wong’s wrote in an emotional social media post that’s received almost 800 likes.

“I couldn’t have done it without the tremendous support of family, friends, and most of all, the customers who passionately (and patiently) lined up at my original East Chinatown location on Gerrard Street East or who continued to be fans when we closed the shop and continued supporting us via my current retail partners. I owe all of you a mountain of gratitude for allowing me the opportunity to do something I found unbelievably worthwhile and satisfying. Thank you, and all the best.”

Many people commented on the post saying they were sorry to see Wong’s go.
