A cafe is transforming into an Italian restaurant in Toronto

A cafe is taking a page from the book of the restaurant that just closed inside it, and turning into an Italian restaurant serving pizza.
Halcyon Cafe was once a coffee shop that had a restaurant called Bello Pizza hidden inside it. Bello has now closed, and Halcyon has transformed into a totally different restaurant called Enoteca 89.
However, if you were used to picking up pizzas from the address, not much will change for you, but expect a “revamped menu.”
Enoteca 89 is now billing itself as a cafe, wine bar and pizzeria serving morning coffee, lunch, dinner and wine.
In the morning, the restaurant serves a standard lineup of cafe beverages along with croissants, biscuits, muffins and cookies. As for pizza, they serve both pomodoro and bianco styles of pizza (with red sauce or white sauce), with options like Margherita, pepperoni, and the “Whimsy” with prosciutto, mushrooms, artichokes and olives, or the Tartufo with potato, mushroom, pancetta, truffle oil and gorgonzola cream.
Each week there’s also a rotating seasonal chef’s choice pizza. In addition to that, Enoteca 89 also serves shareable appetizers like Caesar salad, meatballs and arancini.
“As we bid farewell to Bello Pizza, we’re thrilled to announce Halcyon Café is transforming into Enoteca 89,” reads a social media post.
“Still under the same management you know and love, we’re blending the same coffee and wine, with new pizza in an exciting way that celebrates artisanal flavours and great company.”
Enoteca 89 also plans on functioning as a community hub with events like wine tastings, pizza nights and live music.
