A famous Japanese cheesecake brand has just opened a new Toronto location.

Uncle Tetsu has become renowned for their fluffy, lighter-than-air Japanese cheesecake.

The chain has locations all over the world, with Ontario locations in Toronto, Markham, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, Vaughan and Ottawa. They also have locations in British Columbia, Calgary and Montreal.

Uncle Tetsu is named for Tetsushi Mizokami, who was born and raised in Japan. He opened his first Japanese cheesecake shop back in 1990.

The shop prides itself on an open concept design where products are made fresh before your eyes. Their fluffy, soft, jiggly Japanese cheesecakes are the star of the show, but they’re also known for their madeleines, cheese tarts and “angel hat” cheesecakes that are extra creamy and jiggly. All of their products usually come in matcha and chocolate varieties in addition to plain.

Uncle Tetsu officially opened a new Toronto location in North York at Yonge and Sheppard in mid-June.
