A great Ontario wine region just got a fabulous new place to stay that’s inspired by the beauty of Scotland.
The Scotsman Hotel just had its grand opening in beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. The hotel was designed with a classic old world feel in mind, balancing sophistication and charm, and has five appointed suites. It was actually originally a post office that was converted to an inn later on.
Designed by Lori Morris, the five suites are named The Dornoch, The Balmoral, The Prestonfield, The Calle and The Owner’s Suite. All are suitable for two and equipped with a king size bed and Sonos technology, and all bathrooms have in-floor heating. The Balmoral and The Prestonfield can be closed off to create The Edinburgh Wing with two king beds, two walk-in showers, a clawfoot tub and double sink vanity. There’s also a lounge, and you can order a luxury breakfast at the hotel.
Owners Brenda and Blair McArthur drew inspiration for the project from their time spent in Scotland as well as their engagement in Niagara-on-the-Lake long ago, which was at the Oban Inn nestled amongst historical buildings.
“The Scotsman Hotel is a tribute to all of the love and fond memories we have made in this beautiful town,” said Brenda McArthur, owner of The Scotsman Hotel. “We hope that all who visit experience the enchanting feeling that is woven through the beautiful town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.”
Rates start at $1,125 and rooms are available to book now. The Scotsman Hotel can also be booked for group trips, business retreats and weddings.
