A legendary Chinese restaurant is hosting a new dining series in Toronto

A Chinese restaurant that’s been around for decades is paving the way for the future with a new dining series showcasing modern takes on traditional cuisine.
Yan translates to “banquet feast” in Chinese, the name of Hong Shing’s new experience Yan Dining Room. The dining series is being put on by outside chef Eva Chin.
The Yan Dining Room eight-course chef’s tasting menu “celebrates the deep connection between food, culture, and heritage” and “reimagines neo-Chinese cuisine, blending traditional Chinese culinary techniques with fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients for a truly unique experience.”

While the dining series is ongoing at Hong Shing, new ingredients, flavours and guest chefs will be swapped in for an ever-evolving culinary experience.
Eva Chin has put on successful dining experiences at Hong Shing in the past, selling out a Three Dragons Dinner earlier this year.
The Yan Dining Room series takes place only on weekends with just one seating per night at 6:30 p.m.
You can make prepaid reservations for parties of one to 10 at $88 per person. Reservations are currently available starting this weekend through to the end of December.
