A new restaurant and lounge with Afro-fusion vibes and a lively atmosphere has just opened up in Toronto.
Ludo Restaurant & Lounge is now serving up traditional African food, and is bringing together dining and nightlife.
Ludo serves starters, sandwiches, burgers, pasta and rice dishes that range from traditional African to other types of cuisines. For example, they serve peppered chicken wings, asun (spicy peppered goat meat), jollof rice and traditional swallows, as well as club sandwiches, hamburgers and penne pasta.
A huge part of the menu consists of traditional pepper soups and Nigerian soups like goat meat, chicken and turkey pepper soup, as well as egusi and efo riro.
They also serve Nigerian breakfasts of boiled yam and spicy fried egg, an Ewa Agoyin Combo of beans, agoyin sauce, fish and agege bread, and their Saturday Knockout of custard or pap (fermented maize porridge) and akara (fried bean cake) or moi-moi (steamed bean pudding). They also have one Western option for breakfast with waffles, pancakes, bacon and berries.

In addition to morning fare, they also have a special late night menu with dishes such as Nigerian peppered snails and Hangover Noodles with asun and egg.
To wash it all down, Ludo serves an assortment of cocktails and mocktails, as well as a full stock of spirits for those party nights when the lounge’s late hours extend to 3 a.m.
Upcoming entertainment at Ludo should include live music, DJs and themed events.
“At Ludo Restaurant & Lounge, we redefine dining with a perfect blend of exquisite cuisine, a stylish ambiance, and top-tier entertainment,” reads the Ludo website.
“Whether you’re looking for a relaxed brunch, a fine dining experience, or a vibrant nightlife scene, Ludo is the ultimate destination.”
Ludo Restaurant & Lounge is now open at 54 Rexdale Blvd.
