Toronto will soon be getting a gigantic new food hall with over 50 vendors serving all different kinds of food and drink.

Huge new development The Well has been exploding with activity ever since business after business started opening there in waves recently. The development has retail spaces, services and cafes, but many of the businesses that are and will be housed inside are restaurants, making it a foodie paradise.

They’ll soon be making a beeline to one particular food destination in the development, a massive new 70,000-square-foot food hall called Wellington Market. In this licensed area with a capacity of 3,400, people will be able to browse among many different food concepts, sipping as they go. The market will also include a 5,000-square-foot Wellington Event Venue.

A full list of the concepts coming to Wellington Market can be found on their website, but some of the hits include Bagels on Fire, Chatime, East Tea Can, Gus Tacos, Hooky’s Fish and Chips, Isabella’s Mochi Donuts, Japdog, La Cubana, Nord Lyon, Pancho’s Bakery, Rosie’s Burgers, RYUS Noodle Bar, Snakes & Lattes and Uncle Tetsu’s.

The market will be a mix of outposts from already existing businesses like the above along with newer concepts. Some of the newer concepts will include Bunches Flowers, Korean restaurant Doraji, new acai chain Purpel, SCOSSA Wine and Bottle Shop, and The Pier, a new bar and lounge from Scale Hospitality.

Other spots at the market will include Big Fat Cookies, cheese and charcuterie specialists A La Table, Blue Claw Lobster Shack, gourmet chocolate shop Faray Cacao, Honestly Good Chicken Fingers, Lisa’s Perfect Ice Cream, Pokeworks, Postman Waffles, Ren Sushi, Sam’s Juices and Eats, Sauce Frens, Shake Therapy, The Islands Caribbean Cookshop, Sweetie Pie, Szechuan Express, Tong Mein and The Samosarie.

There will also be a grocer at the market called Little Harvest, which will sell produce, meats, dairy, pantry staples and plants. A Friday Night Market Series should also be taking place at the new market with DJs and ambient lighting.

There should also be some other restaurants opening later on at the market after the space first opens to the public, including global Korean fried chicken brand BHC Chicken, Bao Bao Dim Sum, and Indian restaurant Dil Se.

Wellington Market should be opening at The Well on Front Street West in late spring 2024.
