A new restaurant for Hyderabadi food just opened in Toronto

Toronto is already a great source for all kinds of South Asian food, and now a new restaurant for Hyderabadi cuisine has just opened.
Deccan House specializes in contemporary Indian cuisine with an emphasis on desi food. Hyderabadi cuisine is also known as Deccani cooking, hence the name.

The restaurant serves the signature Hyderabadi dish of dum biryani as well as other specialties like qubani ka meetha, a sugary apricot dessert with nuts. Other items on their menu include classic curries like butter chicken and saag paneer as well as traditional tandoori dishes such as chicken tikka.
Deccan House also serves breakfast, including many varieties of idly and dosa, and deep-fried snacks of vada and bonda.

The space is cozy but still has lots of seating, with bold graphics on the walls and greenery hanging from the ceiling.
Deccan House is now open at 19 Lapsley Rd.
