A chain for bagels is opening a location in an area of Toronto that’s totally new to them.

What A Bagel is a bakery chain that has 11 locations across the GTA, but now they’re opening their 12th in a neighbourhood where they’ve never had a store before.

The chain has three generations of bagel making experience behind it and serves around 10 varieties of bagels, as well as all kinds of breads, pastries, sandwiches and salads. What A Bagel first opened in 1997 and was founded by Joseph Farbman.

They have locations on Spadina and St. Clair West, and in North York, Richmond Hill, Thornhill, Vaughan, Ajax and East Gwillimbury.

The chain is opening the first What A Bagel in the Beaches at 1984 Queen St. E. on July 30, serving a whole new side of Toronto.

What A Bagel is celebrating the opening of their new location by giving away four free bagels to walk-in customers starting at 8 a.m. on the first day, while quantities last.
