A restaurant in Toronto has announced that they will be closing down their regular dinner service.
Taverne Tamblyn posted a long and emotional message to their website and social media letting people know they would no longer be able to regularly enjoy dinner service at the restaurant.
“It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing the closing of Taverne Tamblyn for dinner service. This was not an easy decision to make. I love what we have created together: a cheerful neighbourhood restaurant offering the classic French cuisine I love to prepare and serve,” reads the message signed by Taverne Tamblyn owner Ben Gundy.
“But even at the best of times, a full service restaurant operates on razor thin margins. And given the current economic situation in our industry, I feel it is best to turn off the lights in the evenings. Going forward we’ll be focusing on a line of prepared foods, catering and the occasional bistro night.”

That means that not all hope is lost for fans of Taverne Tamblyn. The restaurant hopes the bistro nights may be more than just occasional, possibly doing them every Friday night, but the future is still uncertain.
Taverne Tamblyn will be offering their regular menu up until they close, but will no longer be offering their Tuesday prix fixe menu.
Taverne Tamblyn will be closing for dinner service on March 29.
