A restaurant for shawarma with a location in Scarborough just opened up their first ever location in downtown Toronto.
Shawarma Daddy is a halal restaurant located on Sheppard Avenue East that serves up typical classics like shawarma, falafel and poutine, but that’s not all that’s on their menu.
They also do BBQ lamb chops and chicken, and serve fusion shawarma plates of butter chicken, jerk chicken and paneer. Shawarma Daddy also offers special deals on two wraps, including two falafel wraps for just $10.
While their website lists hours until 3 a.m. at their original location, Google lists hours at the new location until midnight every day. That’s still pretty late, but maybe eventually they’ll extend their hours into the wee hours of the morning like the other Shawarma Daddy spot.
The new location is mostly intended for takeout with a small but colourful space, but there is some limited counter seating with stools.
“Experience the bustling streets of Dubai with our delicious shawarma, perfectly spiced BBQ chicken, and aromatic Mandi rice,” reads the Shawarma Daddy website. “We also offer a variety of Indo-Middle Eastern plates to satisfy every palate.”
Shawarma Daddy is now open right near Christie subway station at 729 Bloor St. W.
