A restaurant and bar that served a trendy menu centred around the grill has closed and has already been turned into something else.

Golden Peacock served a great burger as well as small snacks like crudo, salads, cheeses and croquettes, alongside a robust selection of drinks. The restaurant was a sibling concept to Donna’s not far away, and they also did regular DJ nights.

The last social media post from Golden Peacock in May is simply captioned “Goodbye for now” and has a couple panicked comments from people asking when they might reopen.

It’s become clear now that Golden Peacock is not reopening, as a new business has now taken its place. It’s not all bad, though, as the closing of Golden Peacock means the resurrection of another business that closed a few years ago.

Thirsty & Miserable has now opened in the Golden Peacock space on Dundas West, a bar that was once located in Kensington that’s known for their great beer selection.

The Golden Peacock website says “Closed for now.”
