A globally renowned series that tours the top steakhouses in the world is making their only Canadian stop in Toronto.
The Rare Tour will be making their only Canadian visit along the way at Black+Blue in Toronto.
Black+Blue is a Toronto restaurant known for its rare cuts of meat as well as other classic steakhouse offerings like luxurious seafood dishes. Other stops on The Rare Tour include world class cities like London, Hong Kong, Quito, Florence and Buenos Aires at legendary restaurants like Beefbar and La Cabrera.
Black+Blue Toronto’s executive chef Morgan Bellis and chef Casper Sobczyk of CAPA in Copenhagen, ranked at 23 on the World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants, will be coming together for a four-hands dinner that blends Nordic traditions with the restaurant’s signature style.
The dinner will consist of six courses accompanied by wine pairings. Tickets cost a whopping $350 and are available online.
The amuse bouche from CAPA will be an oyster with hand carved beef tenderloin, and from Black+Blue, eggs and caviar. The first course from CAPA is bone marrow, with steak tartare from Black+Blue, and the second course by Black+Blue is a tasting of their sushi.
The third course from CAPA is oxtail ragu with lobster, and Black+Blue is serving a Wagyu Beef Wellington. An apple dessert provided by Black+Blue brings together components of vanilla mousse, apple passion fruit compote and creme anglaise.
“The four-hands dinner concept allows chefs from around the world to exchange techniques, flavours, and cultural influences, offering guests a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience,” says Ekkehard Knobelspies, the initiator of The Rare Tour.
“Being chosen as the only Canadian location for The Rare Tour is an incredible honour and a testament to the dedication of our team at Black+Blue,” says Emad Yacoub, founder and CEO of Glowbal Group, which has Black+Blue in their portfolio.
“This opportunity allows us to showcase the exceptional talent and creativity of our entire team on an international stage. It’s a chance for us to celebrate Canada’s vibrant food culture while pushing boundaries and creating a truly unforgettable dining experience for our guests.”
The Rare Tour will be stopping at Black+Blue at 130 King St. W. in Toronto from Mar. 25 to 28.
