American sub chain Jersey Mike’s is opening their first locations in the GTA

Jersey Mike’s has arrived in Canada, and now they’ll soon be opening their first ever locations in the GTA.

The chain is known for its sub sandwiches, was founded at the Jersey Shore in 1956 and now has over 3,000 locations.

Bread is made in house and meats and cheeses are sliced on the spot. They serve cold and hot subs with options like roast beef and provolone, BLTs, club subs and cheese steaks.

Jersey Mike’s already has locations in Kitchener and London, but two new locations will soon be opening closer to downtown Toronto than ever before.

The brand is planning on opening locations in York Mills and Markham.

One of Canada’s largest restaurant operators, Redberry, is the area director for Canada and has agreed to open 300 Jersey Mike’s locations by 2034. Five new Jersey Mike’s locations are set to open in 2024.

Otto added, “In addition to building our own Jersey Mike’s, growth will be accelerated by way of supporting other franchisees to join the Jersey Mike’s story in every province across Canada.”

The Markham location should be opening on Aug. 28 and the York Mills location should be opening on Sept. 18.
