Ever seen those awkward old mall portraits with the hilarious outfits and poses and wish you could go back in time to get your own glamour shots? Or maybe you once did one of those shoots, and are longing for the good old days.

Either way, you’ll be pleased to know that Toronto will soon be getting an awkward portrait studio where you can get the 80s snaps of your dreams.

Awkward Portrait Studio (yes, that’s what it’s really called) will be opening soon in Toronto.

A 15-minute session will include access to multiple vintage backdrops, awkward props and posing direction from a pro photographer. Some of the props include mullet wigs, moustaches, fanny packs and plungers. You get 10 free digital copies, and there’s a print shop on site where you can print and frame your photos right away. You can bring up to eight people for a group photo shoot.

The studio resulted from a project called Awkward Family Photos, a website collecting some of the most akward retro family photos out there. It was started up back in 2009 by childhood friends Mike and Doug after Mike spotted an awkward vacation photo of his own in his house, and figured many people had similar funny photos they’d like to share. They were right, and the site became an internet phenomenon.

Standard tickets start at $39 per person, and kids under three years old are free. Awkward Portrait Studio opens June 1 at 594 Richmond St.
