A restaurant from the United States is expanding by opening a brand new location in Toronto.
Balaji Mess has a location in Pleasanton, California, and they’ve recently posted online that they’ve just opened up a new Toronto location.
“Thanks to your endless support, your love has taken us global,” reads a post from the California restaurant’s page.
“Balaji Mess has expanded internationally to Toronto Scarborough! From our hearts to your plates – this journey is possible because of YOU!”

Balaji Mess serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and serves some food in a traditional style on banana leaves, specializing in South Indian cuisine.
The restaurant also serves up a shareable hot lunch that’s good for up to three people, with veg and non-veg options, like chicken curry, poriyal (basically fried or sauteed vegetables), kootu (a kind of vegetable stew), different kinds of kozhumbu (which is kind of like a sauce, curry, gravy or curd), sambar, and rasam (a South Indian soup-like dish).

The best part is, Balaji Mess should be open all day with hours from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Even better, from their opening date of March 26 until April 9, they’re offering 15 per cent off their entire menu.
Balaji Mess at 1960 Lawrence Ave. E. is now open.
