A restaurant serving Italian food just closed down recently after operating for nearly two decades.

Baldini served Italian classics like pasta and tiramisu as well as traditional refined dishes like oysters and steak. They celebrated holidays like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day with special menus and had a cute patio outside. The restaurant was originally an ice cream shop before being turned into Baldini.

The business recently posted to social media letting their long-time customers know that they were closing their doors.

“After nearly 2 decades, today marks our final day of business at Baldini Restaurant. It’s been an honor to serve the Leslieville community and be part of so many cherished moments. We want to extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support and loyalty throughout the years,” reads a post signed “With heartfelt thanks, Sal” (the head chef and owner).

“From our family to yours, thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the countless meals shared. Though this chapter is closing, the warmth and joy you brought to our hearts will always remain.”

The post has a few emotional comments from people in the community saying they’ll miss the restaurant and that the neighbourhood won’t be the same without their go-to for celebrating special occasions.

The Leslieville BIA wrote, “We are of course sad to see you close. But wish you all the best in whatever the future holds for you and family! Thank you for all these years of joy, amazing meals and memories! You will be missed.”

Baldini’s last day of business was last week.
