2024 is coming to a close, and what better to ring in the new year than with some of the most recent bars and restaurants that have broken onto the West Toronto scene?
While it may take a few days to get party-ready, after all the holiday feasts and gift-giving, some premiere locations will be ready to go just in time for New Year’s.
Here is a list of some of the newest bars and restaurants that have opened their doors in the western corners of Toronto.
Bar Clams
The newest creation by renowned chef Matty Matheson is a brand-new pearl on Dundas West.
For those wanting to weave in some simple yet elegant flare to their NYE evening, this location specializes in high-end East Coast cuisine.
While a bit pricey for some, for those looking to have a few ocean-fresh oysters and split a bottle of bubbly with friends or a date, this is one of Toronto’s most talked about additions to do so.

Vinotecca Pompette
Another refreshed location on the west side of town, Vinotecca Pompette (Originally Restaurant Pompette) excels at French and Italian cuisine.
Part of the Little Italy hospitality giant, with other locations such as Bar Pompette and Bakery Pompette, this location guarantees an accessible elevated dining experience, complete with a heated outdoor patio.
Featuring a robust pasta menu, fresh seafood and a dynamic wine list, this cozy spot is a great place to bid 2024 farewell.

No Vacancy
This new Ossington location, which is barely a month old, is hidden behind all the hustle and bustle that comes with the notorious west-end entertainment strip.
However, upon entering guests will be treated to a dynamic menu of Japanese-style high balls, custom cocktails and bar snacks, all of which are perfect for those wandering the streets of Toronto looking to hit as many spots as possible before midnight.

Linny’s
Another addition to Toronto’s Ossington neighbourhood, Linny’s opened in September to critical success.
Renowned Toronto chef David Schwartz has opened this love letter to classic delis and steakhouses, built on gourmet takes on traditional 20th-century cuisine, such as pastrami and Romanian steak.
Slated for a full-tasting menu for New Year’s Eve 2024, those who are curious should book fast, as this new Toronto addition will likely be the place to be before embarking on that first taste of champagne in 2025.

Stefano’s Diner
Another 2024 replacement/revamp, Stefano’s Diner sits right at the corner of Dundas and Dovercourt where the restaurant Extra Burger once resided.
Unlike its predecessor, this new location specializes in plant-based diner substitutes that rival the real thing.
Stefano’s will offer a dynamic three-course prix fixe menu on NYE, a perfect option for those looking for something grand — without any carnivorous commitments.
