ByBlacks Restaurant Week is a celebration of Black-owned Canadian restaurants, caterers, pop-ups, and food trucks where they offer prix fixe menus and discounted specials.

The event takes place across Canada, but if you’re located in Ontario there are a ton of options for places to go and experience Black food. Cuisines on offer include anything from African to Caribbean to fusion.

There are a whopping 32 restaurants participating in Ontario alone, with over 15 restaurants located in and around Toronto.

Participating Ontario restaurants are Blessinglicious, Classic Juice Co., Carib Dish, Edible Bliss 11, Ellis Kitchen, Energy Shack Juice Bar, Kingston 12 Patty Shop, Jam Burrito, Laz Authentic Cuisine, Miss Likklemore’s, One More Cocoa, Royal Caribbean Cafe, Saila Vibes, Scothill, Stacy’s, Stelly’s, SugarKane, T&J Humppy’s Jerk, Tropikal, Vegan Delights, Whitby Jerk Stop and multiple locations of Supreme Juice Bar, Sheryl’s, Potluck Caribbean Cuisine and Authentic Jamaican Jerk.

Toronto Nigerian restaurant Blessinglicious is doing a $20 prix fixe menu of gizdodo for an appetizer, jollof rice and suya chicken for the entree and puff puffs for dessert. Miss Likklemore’s on King Street West in Toronto is doing a $120 prix fixe menu for two of salt cod fritters, Dragon stout short ribs and a slice of Miss Paula’s carrot cake. SugarKane on the Danforth in Toronto is doing a prix fixe menu of jerk corn, jerk pork or jerk chicken sando and salted caramel bread pudding for $30.

There are also a few restaurants participating in the event in Alberta, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Quebec.
