Cherished ice tea brand discontinued after over a decade of distribution in Canada

Celebrated iced tea brand Nestea is being discontinued in Canada after over a decade of distribution as a national favourite.

The news broke earlier this month via a Dec. 10 press release, which indicated that due to Keurig Dr. Pepper Canada (“KDP Canada”) entering into a long-term licensing agreement with Société des Produits Nestlé, product distribution will halt on Jan. 1, 2025, as KDP will envelop the Nestea brand into its corporate portfolio.

While this may not signal the end of Nestea as a whole, Canadians can expect its absence from shelves until KDP decides to move forward with new branding under its current umbrella.

Multiple sources indicate that Nestea, until its purchase by KDP, originally operated under the corporate structure of the Coca-Cola brand.

According to Grocery Business Magazine, due to this new agreement between KDP and Société des Produits Nestlé, the Coca-Cola company will launch the Fuze iced tea brand in 2025 as a substitute throughout Canada.

While the future of Nestea remains uncertain, Canadians who are fond of the beverage can relax knowing that it may return in some new form in the future.
