A longstanding store in the east end of Toronto that has been serving shoppers for 30 years is closing next month.

Recently, GreekTown on the Danforth BIA announced that it—along with many loyal customers—is preparing to say goodbye to Corso Shoes, a store that’s been serving customers out of its Danforth and Arundel Ave. store for three decades.

“After 30 incredible years of putting our best foot forward, it’s time to say goodbye to a beloved staple of GreekTown on the Danforth BIA—Corso Shoes,” the BIA said on social media.

“Located at 446 Danforth Ave, Corso has been more than just a shoe store. It’s been a place where generations found the perfect fit, shared stories, and felt at home.”

A Corso Shoes representative confirmed that the 446 Danforth location is closing permanently, but fortunately for fans of the shoe store, its Woodbine (2000 Danforth Ave.) and Beaches (1942 Queen St. E.) locations will stay open.

While the Danforth location has been around for 30 years, the Corso brand has been around for closer to 40, opening its first location in the east end in 1985. According to its website, the family-owned business was launched out of a love for Italian style and craftsmanship and has, in the last four decades, grown to provide footwear for men, women and children.

The store carries a number of well-known brands, including Birkenstock, Ecco, New Balance, Josef Siebel and more.

The BIA says the Greektown location will close in June.
