A source for Chinese cuisine has just closed down in Hamilton after only being open for a short time.
Dragon Palace served a menu of typical comforting Chinese food like egg rolls, honey garlic spare ribs, General Tao chicken, lo mein, chow mein and fried rice. They were located on Rymal Road and opened around spring 2024.
They’ve announced on social media that they’ve closed their doors in a message addressed to their loyal customers and the Summit Park community.
“We will sadly be closing our doors. It has been a pleasure serving our dishes to our customers, who became friends over these past months, but it is time to say our goodbyes,” reads the notice on social media.
“We are incredibly grateful for your support throughout our time and we want to assure you that this decision was not taken lightly. Due to multiple determining factors, it has become impossible for us to keep the business going. We treasure the shared experiences with you and appreciate your patronage greatly.”

The post goes on to say that the owners will be pivoting to open a totally different business that they say they “specialize in.” They’ll be doing major renovations, so keep your eye out for the next step from the team behind Dragon Palace.
About a dozen people commented on the post, with some lamenting how short-lived the business was and others saying they can’t wait to hear about the next chapter.
“So sad to hear! I really loved your food. Excited to see what your next adventure is,” someone commented. Someone else commented, “Oh wow, sad to hear the news. We loved your yummy dishes. Can’t wait to hear about the new news.”
“Only tried it once & loved it ! Congratulations on the new endeavours. All the best,” someone else said.
“I ordered once so far and was looking forward to it again.. your dishes were yummy! All the best to you!” wrote another commenter. Someone else said, “Dang, I never got to try.”
Dragon Palace closed on Jan. 3.
