CLOSURE: Another popular pub abruptly shuts down with no warning in Toronto

A location of popular pub chain Fox and Fiddle suddenly closed its doors right before a New Year’s Eve event was supposed to happen, leaving people stranded for ringing in 2025.
News of the closure didn’t come directly from the restaurant itself, but rather from a local artist who was involved with the NYE event. However, the artist didn’t express any negativity towards the space.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I share this news: Fox and Fiddle at 27 Wellesley St. has permanently closed its doors. This means our Thursday and Saturday karaoke nights, as well as the New Year’s Eve show, will no longer be happening,” reads a post on Facebook from Brayo Bryans.
“I want to take a moment to thank Fox and Fiddle for being more than just a venue—it was my home, the place where I started my karaoke hosting journey, and where so many incredible memories were made. I’m forever grateful to everyone who sang, danced, and supported me there not forgetting Management and the lovely staff. You all made my 3 year residency so special.”
The post went on to let people know other places and times where Bryans would be playing instead, and redirected people to another New Year’s Eve party at Taps Bar and Grill.
There are still other locations of Fox and Fiddle open on Finch, Danforth, St. Clair West, John, York Mills and Fort York, as well as in British Columbia.
Fox and Fiddle on Wellesley has been closed as of Dec. 31.
