A board game cafe with multiple locations just closed one of them after over five years in business.
Snakes and Lattes operated in the midtown area for around seven years, but recently announced the time had come for them to say goodbye to the neighbourhood.
All locations of Snakes and Lattes centre around providing a place to play and try all kinds of fun and unique board games, and also have a drink and a bite to eat as well. Drinks usually include coffee, beer, wine and cocktails, and comfort food on the menu includes options like nachos, wings, fries and flatbread.
There are other locations of Snakes and Lattes in Toronto in the Annex, on College and at Wellington Market, but what you might not know is that they also have locations in the United States in Chicago, Tempe, Tucson and Virginia Beach.

“We sadly had to close our doors. We want to express our sincere gratitude to our loyal customers, dedicated staff and supportive community. Your patronage and friendship have meant the world to us,” reads a social media post from the cafe.
“While this chapter is ending, we invite you to keep an eye out for the new and exciting things to come.”
The post has over 750 likes and over 70 comments on Instagram from people saying they were sorry to hear the news.
“We are so sorry to hear this news,” wrote one gaming collective. “Thank you so much for all the incredible game nights and for holding space for us tabletop nerds. We will miss your Midtown location but will continue to of course support you in other parts of the city. Now more than ever, these shared spaces are so important, thank you for holding them.”
“Had some great times here and some fun trivia nights,” someone else commented. “Sorry to hear this news. I’ve seen a lot of places come thru here in such a short time. From Hooters to Spring Rolls, was hopeful you guys would stay around especially as Eglinton will be getting way better soon.”
The last day open for Snakes and Lattes in midtown was Dec. 1.
