A local ice cream shop has been sold off and is closing as we know it.

Creamery X has been sold to a new owner, who will be taking the little ice cream parlour in a new direction.

The shop is known for their frozen custard and vegan ice cream, and it’s possible that while Creamery X will be no more, you’ll still be able to get your hands on the same treats they’ve always had.

“After 4 incredible years, it’s bittersweet to announce that Creamery X has been sold. Thank you for all of your enthusiasm and support for our little ice cream shop. We are excited to welcome a new owner, who is bringing in a new brand and a new direction,” reads a post from Creamery X on social media.

“Creamery X will become Pink Elephant Creamery. While Pink Elephant will retain our recipes, they are free to change them or retire them as they wish.”

The post says the business has been sold to new owner Urvin, who will be training with Creamery X before taking over and running the new shop with his family. He’s a graduate of Carpigiani Gelato University and has previously owned several franchises.

“Excitingly, Pink Elephant may also launch additional lines, such as breakfast and other baked goods,” reads the post. “Keep an eye out! We will miss all of our regulars and the creativity Creamery X has allowed us, but are looking forward to our next chapter. Thank you all again for everything.”

You can stock up on pints for your freezer while Creamery X is still open at 114 Queen St. E., and they advise reserving pints through their online shop.

The sale will officially close on Oct. 28.
