A restaurant for North Japanese noodles just made the announcement that they’ll soon be closing.

The North Japanese Noodle Bar specializes in Japanese ramen, with pork and chicken soup bases and standard broth options like shoyu, shio, roasted garlic and spicy miso. They also serve udon noodle soup, pasta and donburi, along with side dishes like edamame, gyoza, takoyaki and chicken karaage.

The restaurant took to social media to announce the closure.

“After much thought, we regret to announce that The North Japanese Noodle Bar will be closing its doors,” reads a post on social media.

“It has been an incredible journey, and we are deeply grateful for your support, loyalty, and love for our ramen over the years. Serving you has been an honor, and we will always cherish the wonderful memories we’ve shared. If you’re in the area, we warmly invite you to enjoy our signature Japanese ramen before we close. We look forward to sharing one last bowl with you!”

The post has around 70 likes and 20 comments on Instagram, with a small but passionate handful of people commenting on how sad they were to hear the restaurant is closing and that it was their favourite ramen place.

The restaurant is located at 28 South Unionville Ave. in Markham. Tucked away in the corner of Langham Square, the space is known as something of a hidden gem.

The last day for The North Japanese Noodle Bar will be March 16.
