CLOSURE: Location of a popular health food store just shut down in Toronto

A beloved health food store that had opened another location has announced that location has now shut down.
The Sweet Potato is a healthy grocery store and resource for all kinds of sustainable shopping. They’re known for their organic produce, bulk items and harder-to-find rare products.
The grocery store took to social media to announce the closure of their Leaside location.

“Though it wasn’t an easy decision, we’re closing our Bayview-Leaside location to focus our efforts on our flagship store in the Junction,” reads a post signed by operators Digs and CJ.
“We’re so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the Bayview-Leaside community and hope you’ll visit us soon.”
The post has well over 500 likes and over 50 comments on Instagram from people saying they support the tough decision, especially other local businesses who can relate better than anyone.
“Wishing you success as you refocus your efforts,” wrote pizza restaurant Mattachioni, which also recently closed their second location. “Always a hard choice, but you created something beautiful. Best of luck to your whole team.”
The original Junction location of The Sweet Potato remains open. The last day for the Leaside location was Feb. 14.
