CLOSURE: Nightclub shutting down after almost 10 years of operation in Toronto

A nightclub that was in business for nearly a decade in Toronto has announced they’re shuttering their doors.
Early Mercy has been a staple in the King West nightlife scene for almost 10 years now, and now they’re finally saying farewell to the community.
The club was known for throwing wild parties, sometimes with celebrity guests, and for their super late last call time of 4 a.m.
“After nine amazing years, Early Mercy will close its doors,” reads a post on social media.
“This isn’t goodbye. Just a ‘see you in 2025,’ as a new project will be announced in the coming months. Thank you to everyone who came through these doors and shared a night with us.”

The post has 335 likes and 35 comments on Instagram from people expressing how they’ll miss the old club.
“A crazy good run! This place helped form me as an open format DJ,” said one person. “Legendary run,” commented another person. “Shoutout to all the staff from the front door, to the washroom guy my brother!”
Another person commented, “Some of the most epic memories, let’s do it for one last time!”
Club goers needn’t fret too much about the closure, as the social media announcement indicates that a new concept by the same people behind Early Mercy is already in the works.
The final night for Early Mercy will be Dec. 31.
