A store for popsicles and soup is temporarily closing and relocating in Toronto.
Soul Provisions just bid a heartfelt farewell to their spot where they’ve become beloved by the community.
The store sold a quirky combination of popsicles and soup plus some other items like wine, but their creative flavours always won people over, including varieties made with booze. They also had a lively patio at the location.
They’ve been operating out of their cute corner spot at 571 Vaughan Rd. for over five years. Soul Provisions made items like shakshuka sauce, beef barley soup, matzoh ball soup, vegan chili, and popsicles in flavours like fudge, raspberry Oreo, lemonade gummy bear, cucumber lime mint and strawberry mint.
“We were trying to avoid a hiatus, as we know that YOU NEED YOUR SOUP and SOUL POPS, but finalizing on our new abode has been met with a multitude of dramatic twists and turns, including a pregnant dog. Not kidding,” reads a post from Soul Provisions on social media.
Even though they’re currently on hiatus while they’re looking for a new home, you can still order custom popsicles from Soul Provisions.
Another silver lining: while Soul Provisions may be closed for now, the good news for community members is they won’t be going far, and they won’t be gone for long.
“We have two possible options and we will see which one works out,” Soul Provisions owner Sara Schwartz Geller tells YourCityWithIN.com. “Both on Vaughan Road.”
The last day for Soul Provisions at 571 Vaughan Rd. was Nov. 17. They’re hoping to reopen in January.
