A long-standing salon offering manicures, pedicures, waxing and more is closing its Queen Street East location in Toronto at the end of the month.
Recently, employees at Leslieville’s Ten Spot location announced that the location is permanently closing on Nov. 30.
A Ten Spot representative has confirmed the closure.
In a Facebook post shared with a community group, an esthetician who works at the salon said that some staff members will be moving to another Ten Spot location on King Street East and Parliament after the salon closes.
In the post, the employee said an incoming rent hike will “make it impossible to keep the doors open” and that she hopes to see customers at the King Street location.
“I look forward to seeing your beautiful faces there in December and I truly appreciate your love and support,” she wrote on Facebook.
In the post, customers mourned the closure and offered to follow departing workers to the other salon.
“Nooooo this is devastating news,” one Facebook user wrote.
“I’m so sorry to hear this but will obviously follow you to King, thanks for letting us all know!”
The Ten Spot, founded in 2006, boasts locations across Canada and the U.S.
