CLOSURE: Pub permanently closing after almost 10 years of business in Toronto

A pub found inside a Toronto brewery has announced that they will soon be shutting down this month.
Liberty Commons has been located inside Big Rock since the brewery opened its doors in Toronto, and has been serving a menu that matches the beers on tap.
Though the food is heavily British-inspired with options like a Sunday roast, they also draw from global influences, and tie everything together with the spirit of a backyard barbecue. The restaurant is overseen by the Oliver & Bonacini restaurant group, which is responsible for other hotspots in Toronto like Maison Selby, Canoe and Rabbit Hole.
The restaurant took to social media to announce that they’d be saying goodbye.

“We will be permanently closing our doors. As our time in Liberty Village comes to an end, our hearts are full of gratitude,” reads the caption to a video post from Liberty Commons.
“Liberty Commons is a place of magic. We encourage you to watch and listen to our short trip down memory lane, and the endless thanks we’d like to give. We look forward to hosting you throughout these last few weeks, including our final weekend.”
The video begins with chef Ryan Lister speaking directly to the camera, and then rolls through some clips of memories from over the years at Liberty Commons.

The restaurant is closing with a bang, offering special prices rolled back to 2017 on their Love At First Sight menu which is available during their last weekend open. Some of the classic dishes Liberty Commons is bringing back for their Valentine’s menu include poutine, a burger, a Reuben, a huge pretzel stick, jerk half chicken and sticky toffee pudding.
Liberty Commons is permanently closing on Feb. 16.
