A rare source for Japanese-style pizza has announced they’ll soon be shutting down in Toronto.
Pizza Saint Tropez was unique for their offering of Japanese-style pizza, which included varieties like spicy cod roe mayo potato, tuna mayo, teriyaki savoury mochi, seafood lover and spicy meat lover pizza.
“Saint-Tropez is a legendary Italian restaurant in Kadoma, Osaka, which opened on August 7, 1980,” reads the Pizza Saint Tropez website. “This store, which was loved by customers along the Keihan railway line, centring on Kadoma, was the predecessor of Pizza Saint-Tropez, a delivery specialty store.”
Sadly, the store recently announced that their closure was imminent in a post on social media signed by Rie and Masakazu Araki.

“This was not an easy decision for us, but our lease expires and we will not be renewing. We are truly appreciative of all the support from you and the joy you have brought to us. Wishing you all the best for the Holiday season and Happy New Year.”
The post received over 150 likes and dozens of comments on Instagram from people saying they were sad and sorry to hear the news.
Pizza Saint Tropez will be closing on Sunday, Dec. 8.
