A shop known for their cream pies abruptly posted to social media last month letting people in Hamilton know they had less than 48 hours before being locked out.
Sadly, the shop wasn’t able to raise the money they needed to in order to stay open, and has now shut their doors.
Mikey’s Cream Pies was known for making a variety of pies as well as other baked goods like loaves, cookies and butter tarts. The business opened up on Barton Street back in 2021.

“I need to raise money by the end of day tomorrow or face being locked out at the end of the month,” reads a post from Mikey’s.
Just two days later the shop posted this sobering message: “So it’s begun. Not sure if today or tomorrow will be our last day. We have stuff for walkins. No orders. It has been an honor and privilege to serve you Hamilton over the last almost 4 years. I love you.”

People commented on the post saying they were so sorry to hear the sad news, and wished owner Mike Jensen best of luck with the future.
Mikey’s Cream Pies had its last days in mid-November.
