A food hall concept that was once reputed for their upscale gourmet offerings has now closed all Toronto locations.
Saks Food Hall was in business for almost 10 years and was operated by gourmet grocery store chain Pusateri’s. The concept had two locations, both at shopping centres.
One at Sherway Gardens closed in 2023, and now Retail Insider reports that the Saks Food Hall downtown at the Hudson’s Bay building has closed too.
Saks Food Hall combined gourmet grocery offerings with standard departments like meat, dairy and produce with various vendors serving ready-made items.
They also offered specialty products like olive oil and other items. The stores were named for their locations under Saks Fifth Avenue stores.
Pusateri’s has also closed some locations recently as well, and pulled the plug on a new Little Italy location that they had been working on but never ended up opening.
Saks Fifth Avenue is still operating in Toronto.
