Urban Outfitters now has one less location in Toronto with the closure of a major store.

Lovers of trendy and quirky apparel and home goods will no longer be able to stock up on Stanley tumblers and Baggu crossbody bags at one location of the chain store, with Urban Outfitters taking to social media to announce the closure of one of their biggest shops.

“We’re very sad to announce we’ll be saying goodbye to our Yonge & Eglinton location,” reads a social media post. “Come and stop by before we close the heaviest doors in the city for the last time! We’ll miss you so much, midtown.”

The post has almost 200 likes and a couple dozen comments, with some making comments like “So many great memories with a great team in that store” and “The realest team out there.” It appears customers agree it was a great team, with one commenting “What a great staff.”

Some seemed caught off guard by the closure, making comments like “I didn’t even know it was my last time shopping there,” “I was just there the week before, I had no idea” and “How did this happen overnight?”

Either way, people can agree they were indeed the heaviest doors in the city, commenting, “Those doors are iconic for real” and “Heaviest door for real.”

Yonge and Dundas, Queen West and Square One locations of Urban Outfitters are still operating.

The last day for Urban Outfitters at Yonge and Eglinton was July 20.
