Fans of a popular Vietnamese restaurant in Milton recently took to social media to share their disappointment over the sudden closure of the pho hotspot.
Pho Metro, located in the Derry Heights Plaza in the Derry Road and Bronte Street South area, announced the closure earlier this month.
“We regret to inform you that Monday, December 11th was the last operating day of our restaurant,” a sign on the restaurant door reads.
“We would like to thank you for your support during the last five years. It has been a pleasure to serve and make an acquaintance with you all. Thank you.”
An anonymous contributor posted a picture of the sign to the Milton Talk Facebook group.
The resto offered a range of Vietnamese staples, including spring rolls, fresh rolls, pho (a popular soup that can be made with beef, chicken, brisket, seafood, tofu and more), rice dishes, vermicelli dishes and more.
The restaurant also served pad Thai, chow mein and vegetarian dishes.
“This is my favourite Pho place in Milton! What a sad sad news,” one poster said on Facebook.
Others agreed the restaurant would be missed.
“That was the best place for pho in Milton; other local pho spots can’t even compare,” another poster wrote.
