Convenient grab-and-go sushi restaurant Edo Japan has just opened their only downtown Toronto location.

Edo Japan serves bento boxes, rice dishes, noodle dishes, sushi and bubble tea. They also have their own famous brand of teriyaki sauce available for purchase.

Their teriyaki chicken and sukiyaki beef are especially popular. All their sushi is made fresh daily, and they cook using a 450-degree teppan grill.

The brand has been in business for 45 years, and was originally opened in Calgary in 1979 by Susumu Ikuta, who moved to Canada from Japan.

By 2011, Edo Japan had opened 100 restaurants, and in 2019 they opened three new locations in Ontario. The brand now has over 200 locations across the country.

That includes locations on Castlefield Ave., at Square One, at Heartland Town Centre and at Vaughan Mills. Now, they’ve opened their only downtown Toronto location at Yonge and College.

Edo Japan’s only downtown location at 452 Yonge St. opened near the end of August.
