With the biggest weekend of the holidays right around the corner, it’s important to know that some of Canada’s coziest restaurants are right here in Toronto.
According to the Canadian booking service OpenTable, some of the warmest and most welcoming locales nationwide are right here in our backyard.
While the full list is extensive, with locations in Montreal, Vancouver, St. Johns and Halifax, two premiere Toronto locations made their way in, signifying that even though Canada’s largest metropolis can sometimes appear all hustle and bustle, it can, in reality, be quite cozy.

The first Toronto location, Bar Koukla, is a beloved Ossington staple situated right in the middle of the famous West Side entertainment strip.
Specializing in gourmet Greek fare, such as lamb, shellfish and other Mediterranean cuisine, this location stylized like an Athenian street bar brings great hot food to the chilly streets of Toronto but also, an incredibly warm and relaxing atmosphere.
Second on OpenTable’s recommendation of the most welcoming nooks in Toronto is Cibo.
This wine bar has three locations dotted throughout Toronto, all of which feature a welcoming environment built on the pillars of lounge-like vibes that are perfect for escaping from the winter cold.
Whether at its King St, Yonge St, or Yorkville location, this perfect fusion of expertly curated wine lists and upper-echelon Italian cuisine will have you hibernating here until Spring.
