A patisserie that’s been owned by the same family for 30 years has announced they’re expanding with their first ever downtown Toronto location.

Amadeus Patisserie is known for their French-inspired baked goods like breads, cakes, tarts and macarons. The origins of the shop extend back to 1990 when the Aronovich family moved to Canada from Israel.

The family’s eldest son, Lior, trained under top Israel pastry chefs and has also made regular trips to Paris to go to baking school to reinforce his skills. Amadeus uses imported butter, Belgian chocolate and fresh fruit to make their products, which are immaculately presented with details like chocolate swirls and Art-Deco-style designs.

The business has locations in Vaughan and Newmarket, but now they’ll be opening in downtown Toronto for the first time ever.

“We’re thrilled to announce our expansion to Yorkville,” reads a social media post from Amadeus Patisserie.

“We’re bringing decades of love and dedication to our newest venture. Stay tuned for our opening date–we can’t wait to continue growing with you!”

Amadeus Patisserie at 1235 Bay St. in Yorkville should be opening sometime in September.
