The founder of a well-known burger chain and popular pizza restaurant is now opening a brand new spot for burgers.

Shant Mardirosian is the mind behind Burger’s Priest, the epic burger chain that’s claimed to be “redeeming the burger one at a time.” They’ve attracted attention for their creations like The Vatican, a double cheeseburger sandwiched between two grilled cheese “buns.”

Much has changed since people were first getting excited about their out-there new burgers when they originally opened in 2010. Now it seems many businesses have taken a cue from Burger’s Priest and have started serving over-the-top burgers, making their offerings less rare. Founder Mardirosian also parted ways with the chain.

Since then, Mardirosian has moved on to a new comfort food: pizza. He’s behind Fourth Man in the Fire on Dundas West, a pizza spot with a classic feel and a sit-down dining room.

At long last, though, it seems the burger wiz will be returning to the beef business.

Elijah’s Automatic Flame Broiled is set to open at 821 The Queensway in Etobicoke. No official menu has been confirmed yet, but the restaurant should be centred around traditional flame broiled burgers, the likes of which can be found at old school chargrilled burger joints.

Elijah’s is opening on July 26 at 9 a.m. for donuts and 11 a.m. for the full menu.
