If you’re looking for something incredibly festive to do this holiday season, you’re probably planning a day (or two) at the Distillery District in Toronto.
But did you know that for one day only, you can pair a visit to the annual Distillery Winter Village with a free concert that will feature performances by the stars of multiple popular musicals, including Moulin Rouge!, The Lion King, Come From Away and Titaníque?
Today, Mirvish and the Distillery District announced that the free A Very Merry Mirvish Holiday Concert will take place in front of the iconic 55-foot Christmas tree on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m.
Radio personality Azalea Hart will host the event.
The intimate, one-hour concert will feature 50 cast members from the aforementioned musical productions who will perform a number of well-known Broadway classics and festive numbers.
Broadway Word says attendees can expect to hear Welcome to the Rock and Me and the Sky from Come From Away, I’m Alive and My Heart Will Go On from Titaníque, Come What May and Elephant Love Song Medley from Moulin Rouge! The Musical and the Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight from The Lion King.
As for Christmas hits, expect hits such as Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Winter Wonderland.
According to Broadway World, Dayna Tekatch will direct the show, Bob Foster will provide musical direction, and Lisa Humber will manage the stage.
While the concert is free, guests must purchase admission to the Winter Village in order to check it out.
Tickets for the village, which start at $15, must be purchased online.
