Free movie and gaming day on at Cineplex theatres across Canada

The Cineplex Community Day returns offering free movies and, for the first time, games at participating theatres and complexes across Canada.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, the event is back for its 11th year, according to a press release from Cineplex.

In addition to a morning of free, family-friendly movies, Cineplex is offering a morning of free gaming at Playdium and The Rec Room locations.

The event is also a fundraiser for BGC Canada (formerly Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada). Every food and beverage order and game band purchase throughout the day will support BGC Canada.

“We are proud to extend this celebration to The Rec Room and Playdium locations, bringing together communities across the country for a day of fun, in support of BGC Canada, a cause that empowers the next generation,” said Ellis Jacob, president and CEO, Cineplex.

Cineplex theatres across Canada will open their doors at 9 a.m. and offer a morning of free movies. Locations will return to regular programming in the afternoon.

This year’s lineup of family-friendly films includes Lyle, Lyle, CrocodileHotel Transylvania 3: Summer VacationJumanji: The Next LevelThe Angry Birds Movie 2Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (French); and Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (French).

Also, cinema snacks including popcorn, soft drinks and select candy are just $2.50 each throughout the morning.

The Rec Room and Playdium locations across Canada will welcome guests beginning at 9 a.m. offering free gaming. Every guest will receive a two-hour, non-redemption game band upon entry.

Theatre-goers can reserve seats in advance starting on Oct. 25.
