Gift shop that moved now closing its doors for good in Toronto

A shop for gifts and flowers that moved down the street recently has now announced it will be closing down for good.
Miss Pippa’s has been a fixture on College for over six years, selling everything from cute gifts like candles and candy to flowers and housewares. The spaces have always had a living-room-like feel, and they also played host to events like drag shows.
The store has announced on social media that the owner is leaving the country and closing up shop in a post that begins “THE BIG NEWS!”

“After seven years in Toronto and over six years running Miss Pippa’s mostly in the pandemic I’m tired and I’m ready for a change,” reads a social media post.
“Next year it will be a move to Fuerteventura Spain for a more quiet life, living close to the beach, my dogs are so excited!”
The post went on to say that there would still be time to make the last months fun and pick up holiday gifts at the store, with a party at the end of the month offering an opportunity to say goodbye.
Now, Miss Pippa’s has posted another update on social media saying they’re moving out sooner than they thought.
“My landlord was kind and let me out of my lease early,” reads a post saying that a new tenant had suddenly been found and Miss Pippa’s could now be out of the space in a few days.

While it’s a stressful task to abruptly pack up the shop, the owner of Miss Pippa’s is taking the opportunity to get out of the space early. Never fear if you were counting on them for some special holiday shopping, though: the owner is still planning on trying to sell items through Instagram and offer local delivery.
“If anyone know of a job, anything,” concludes the post. “I’m here until the end of April.”
While you still may be able to shop the Miss Pippa’s stock until spring, it appears the physical store is closing this week.
