American chains have been opening in Ontario at a rapid pace lately, and now U.S. sub chain Jersey Mike’s has opened another store in the province and will soon be opening one in downtown Toronto.

Jersey Mike’s is known for their sub sandwiches with fresh sliced meats and fresh baked bread, and has been in business since 1956. They already have Ontario stores in Kitchener, London, Markham, North York and Brantford.

The Markham store was opened in August and the North York store was opened in October. Redberry is responsible for bringing the Jersey Mike’s brand to Canada, and they have plans to open 300 Jersey Mike’s restaurants across the country.

They most recently opened a store in Brantford at 300 King George Rd. on Dec. 11.

“We have been thrilled by the enthusiastic welcome Jersey Mike’s has received in Ontario with our first openings in Markham and North York,” said Ken Otto, CEO, Redberry, in a press release. “We can’t wait to meet our new neighbours in Brantford and introduce them to Jersey Mike’s.”

Jersey Mike’s plans to open their next Ontario locations in Pickering, Guelp and in downtown Toronto at Union Station.

The first ever downtown Toronto location of Jersey Mike’s should be opening in January.
