A Hong Kong style restaurant in Toronto with multiple locations just recently announced they’ve closed down two of them for good.
Phoenix Restaurant serves Hong Kong style food and milk tea, with options like Hainanese chicken, pork chops, fried noodles and soups. Now, there are two less places to get the cuisine.
The restaurant announced on social media that they have now closed The Phoenix Restaurant 2.0 on Yonge Street and the Mississauga Phoenix Cafe due to the “economic environment.”
Their McCowan, Woodbine and North York Phoenix Cafe locations are still in operation.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause,” reads the post. “Your continued support is greatly appreciated and we thank you for your understanding.”
Many people reacted to the news on social media with sad face emojis, with one person saying they’d miss the Yonge location and another saying they wished there was more notice. Fortunately for them, at least they can still travel to Phoenix Restaurant’s other locations.
