The crispy burger phenomenon is coming to Mississauga with the Bingz restaurant chain opening a location at the Square One shopping centre.
Bingz, which was founded in 2014 by two Chinese programmers in Beijing, now operates more than 140 outlets in Beijing and is expanding rapidly to other Chinese cities.
The company’s first international location was in Markham in 2020 and has added stores at Fairview Mall and Scarborough Town Centre in Toronto.
The Square One location is expected to open later this year.
The first store in the Chinese capital made headlines when it sold more than 200,000 crispy burgers in 100 days. In the past eight years the company has sold more than 80 million crispy burgers and is one of the Chinese brands with the brightest futures.
The speciality of the house is the Crispy Burger, with slow roasted pork and spices, but other burger options, including beef, black pepper beef, cumin pork and mushroom and veggie options are also available.
The Crispy Burger (Roujiamo) is a Chinese sandwich invented around two millenniums ago in the Qin Dynasty and it has been popular in China ever since. The name Crispy Burger is given because of its crispy bun and the obvious similarity to burgers. The buns are baked fresh in-house to ensure every bite is crispy at first and juicy and tender after.
Other dishes included chili noodles, liangpi with chili oil or sesame sauce, wonton soup, tofu pudding and hot and sour glass noodles, as well as spicy fries, soy milk, plum fizz and plum cold brew beverages.
