An Italian restaurant with an emphasis on plant-based eating has announced that they’re opening a second location.

Bellona Kitchen has an original location on Jane Street, and makes vegetarian and vegan meals that nonna would still approve of.

The restaurant is helmed by Johnnie Fusco who has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and who himself has a plant-inspired lifestyle. Bellona is named for a small farming town north of Naples.

They serve a menu of Italian small plates, salads, pastas and pizzas, and are also known for fairly priced prix fixe meals.

Now, Fusco is bringing his plant-inspired italian cuisine to a totally new neighborhood in Toronto. Posts from Bellona about the new location have garnered hundreds of likes on social media.

The menu for the new location should be pretty much the same as the original restaurant, but the new space will be larger, and there will be a full bar and patio.

Bellona’s new location at 680 College St. should be opening on Sept. 16.
