A business selling beef patties and pot pies has announced they’re shutting down.

Phamilyeats is run by Peter Pham, who started up the business after he was temporarily laid off due to the pandemic. After spending some time reconnecting with his love of patty making, he started selling his patties and the business took off, leading him to eventually open a physical location at an East York food hall where he sells Jamaican-style patties and beef pho short rib pot pies.

That location and delicious Phamilyeats patties are now coming to an end as Pham embarks on a new chapter.

“It’s with mixed emotions (mostly gratitude!) that we’re announcing that Phamilyeats will be closing,” reads a post from the business on social media.

“This was not an easy decision to make, but with our lease coming to an end and us getting ready to grow our family outside of the shop, we’ve decided that now is the right time to close out this chapter.”

The post goes on to thank everyone that supported the business along the way saying they’d love to see them at pop-ups and events they’ll be attending around the city in the coming weeks, and lets people know that there’s lots of frozen inventory available to stock up on. Phamilyeats has been around for four years, and the physical shop actually turns three years old in a few weeks.

Phamilyeats will be closing on July 28.
